I took this by a dilapidated old shed near the airport. I’ve been there a few times near dusk, and it’s a very enjoyable location for shots. I expect you’ll see more of it in the future.

This was a one-off shot from Goleta Beach, but I really like the brightness of the water and the silhouette of the boat.

Pip in the vines, originally uploaded by slingram.
Photo taken same place as the barrels, and where Ted took his vineyard shot six months earlier. I did this with manual focus.

I love Street Photography. I expect you’ll see a lot of it posted here over the next few months.

I took this as a storm was approaching Goleta. It looks really good small, but doesn’t seem to look as good when seen close up.

It took a while to get this shot because I was at an event in a winery’s warehouse. People kept walking through or idling in the shot. While I like it, I’m not totally happy with it. I would have preferred a little more symmetry and it looked much more golden/yellow in tone on the computer I used for editing, so I may need to update this further.

Another landscape picture from our Photo 109 Class. I always feel like the colors in this photo are a bit unrealistically saturated, but I still like it.

campus flower, originally uploaded by slingram.
Taken with a newly purchased fixed macro lens. A bit of digital darkroom editing brought out the purple in stamen. My first step into macro photography was startlingly hard and both Ted and I agreed that it is a skill we will have to practice a lot.

This is probably the most traditionally good of the photos I took at Yosemite in Feburary.
