This was a one-off shot from Goleta Beach, but I really like the brightness of the water and the silhouette of the boat.

I like this shot a lot. The silhouette, the reflection of the water, and the surprise of the bird in the top left corner make this a compelling photograph. My one critique is that it may have been a stronger photo if it followed the rule of thirds, with the boat on the left side looking as if it would propel across the frame; still, this photo works well and I think is quite different than the key and lighting conditions you typically pursue!
