This is the content-aware-scaled version of Expanse. I am posting it for comparison to the previous version, and the original. This one is both square and preserves the gray strip at the top. Looking at both, I think I like the cropped 1:1 version better, although this one is interesting as-is.

I prefer this one.. You may be able to tell that the tree is squished because you have the other versions, but I can’t tell. The sky at the top makes this picture better.

You know what I just realized? The building and the light pole are slightly diagonal, in both versions you posted. What’s going on there?

I think I did a little rotation in the image to straighten the tree, and didn’t notice that in so-doing I made the light pole non-straight. Thoughts? Does it distract from your viewing the image?

Once I noticed, yes, it distracted me. The right side of the picture seems straight (the people don’t look titled and the building doesn’t look as diagonally-oriented) and the left side is clearly titled. It may be worth it to rotate the picture slightly counter-clockwise — the tree trunk has some diagonality (pfftt) to it that, if corrected a bit, could help the light pole and building look less strange. Think that might work?
