In the studio of Vernon’s mother, in San Diego. Ever since Ted’s and my photo class, I’ve wanted to take a picture of paints with a large aperture. I took many photos of this setting before settling on this photo. Unfortunately I didn’t realize I was using an unnecessarily high ISO (3200) and the image has quite a bit of noise, which is disappointing.

I dunno, I think the noise makes it kinda cool. A little “dirtier” – like the paints themselves.

Mmm, close up. The brushes make it. There’s kind of a blue cast here, was there some other light source other than the soft through-window sunlight?

@Andrew The windows were quite large and there’s a winding staircase directly in front of them, which may have changed the light. There was also side light from a window in an exterior door behind me and to the left that may have affected the light.
