According to Lightroom, this is the only photo I took on this day, which seems strange. However, I like the depth of field here quite a bit. The point of focus is about halfway between her nose and eyes, which works well to accentuate the size and width of Christina’s eyes, as well as the mid-expression that she’s been caught in here.

Things I notice:
- only one of her eyes is in focus
- her intense stare is boggling
- the tip of her nose, bottom lip, and strand of wet hair on her fair are the only things in focus besides her right eye
- her shirt is distracting and while I focus first on her eyes, the pattern of the fabric draws my attention away
This is a strange picture. I’m not sure this photo works. I know you chose it because it’s weird and interesting, but perhaps if you’d been able to capture this face in a different setting (outside, in a darkened room, against a tumultuous sky) it would have been better. You’ve broken the rule of thirds by centering her, which works because it makes you feel like the model is looking right at you, and it’s eerie, but ultimately I think the other elements — environmental and focal — take away from what this photo *could* do.

Yeah, clearly there’s a very shallow DOF at work here, giving the picture a very unearthly feel. I like it, and think it would work as a B&W conversion too, perhaps with a red filter to bring down her shirt (though that’d alter her complexion too). The feeling is very intimate, and I like the weak fill light coming in on her right side.
